About Us

HPC 420 is a global Safety and Quality Management Scheme for Home, Laundry and Personal Care Products. HPC 420 is based on the PAS 420 Standard. In November 2014 this PAS 420 Standard, Product safety management system for the manufacturing of home and/or personal care products, was published by BSI, the British Standards Institution. Leading global organizations like Unilever, Metro AG, McBride, Henkel AG and DNVGL were involved in the development of PAS 420. PAS 420 sets out the requirements for implementation of a product safety management system for the production of HPC products and for raw/packaging materials used to manufacture these HPC products.

On request of a number of large international HPC stakeholders the HPC 420 Scheme with PAS 420 as its basis has been developed.

HPC 420 adds quality management to the PAS 420 and sets out extensive requirements for certification and accreditation bodies. Further, HPC 420 covers the infra- structure for audit reporting, compliance , control and integrity management.

HPC 420 is owned and managed by an independent and non-for profit foundation, the Foundation HPC 420, based in the Netherlands. The management of the Foundation is supported by a Stakeholders Committee which consists of global and leading organizations in the Home, Laundry and Personal Care industry.
HPC 420’s ambition is to become a globally leading safety and quality management Scheme in the Home, Laundry and Personal Care industry. HPC 420 was published in September 2016.

About FSSC 22000

In the international food sector FSSC 22000 has proven to highly reduce safety and quality risks and to considerably reduce costs in the whole supply chain. This, and the non-for profit, independent, stakeholders- governed nature of FSSC 22000, explains why a large number of A-brands food manufacturers, trading companies and retailers (a.o. Coca Cola, Kraft, Unilever, Nestle, McDonalds, Danone, Friesland Foods, AHOLD, Walmart) have, in many cases, chosen for FSSC 22000 certification for their own plants and/or as an accepted audit standard for their suppliers.
